What's new with Terre Haute Landmarks?We are currently planning events for the next few months, including our 2007 Fall Night Out. Visit our events page for more information. On Sunday, May 6 the Terre Haute Tribute Star featured Terre Haute Landmarks in its Valley Viewer section. One of the images we ran was the one below, which shows the buildings demolished since the picture was taken in the mid-1950s. It is a very telling illustration; bear in mind that this is only a portion of the downtown and many more buildings have been lost. There are many significant structures remaining and we feel now, more than ever, is the time to stem the tide of demolition in Terre Haute. These historic buildings not only hold many memories, they are the identity of the city and hold great economic development potential.
